A Night of Desserts at Union Trust

Union Trust Philadelphia Steakhouse is celebrating its new monthly dinner series with a special five-course meal made up entirely of desserts.

The Chestnut Street steakhouse will serve a five-course prix fixe menu on Tuesday, September 29. A specially selected wine or beer chosen by sommelier Xavier Mariezcurrena will accompany each course.

Executive Pastry Chef Christina Diekewicz -- the chef in charge of the whole shindig -- promises the desserts will be anything but conventional.

Just what can you expect? One course consists of “braised short ribs with valrhona mole and butternut scotch gelee with maple syrup meringue and bourbon sauce.”

So, you just read that and still don’t know what to expect? No need to fear, just trust the experts and check it out -- at least you can tell all your friends about the crazy desserts you tried at a magnificent steakhouse.

Desserts, wine and beer, what more could you ask for?

Also be sure to check out the next two installments of themed Tuesday night dinners at Union Trust - Vertical steak tasting on October 20 and Oysters on November 10.
