That Guy: Max Kaplan

This week's That Guy Profile is Max Kaplan.

This week's Profile is Max Kaplan of Chestnut Hill. Philly Fashion guru Sabir Peele tells us why Max is this week's That Guy.

What I like about this look?

This look is a great representation of how to incorporate preppy men's staple into your wardrobe this summer. Both his Oxford button-down collar shirt and shorts are cotton which makes this outfit very breathable and warm weather appropriate. Many guys have this style of "corporate" blue, button-down collar shirt in their closets and Max shows us how to wear it outside of the boardroom. By pairing a madras printed belt with subtle hints of orange incorporate throughout, these orange cotton shorts are complemented well and do not stand out too much in this outfit. It was a very smart move to keep the base of this look in solid color pieces, while only the belt is patterned. Overall, I love that this is a look that any guy can pull off and tweak certain elements to their liking.

Where could this outfit be worn?

This look is garden party, casual Friday (at the most casual of places), strolling through the city and lunch appropriate.

Where can you buy this particular look?

Izod, Ralph Lauren, J.Crew and Gap all carry Oxford button-down collar shirts in variety of colors and fits. If you are in market for a pair of color chino shorts brands like Bonobos, H&M and J.Crew should be able to satisfy your style needs. Kiel James Patrick, Lands End Canvas and Brooks Brothers should be your go-to brands if you are looking for belts with a "prep punch". Wayfarer style glasses were made most popular by Ray-ban, however; brands like Tom Ford and Warby Parker have staked their claim on the style too.

Style Tip?

This look can be tweaked in many different ways. You can switch this look to a more athletic prep style by swapping out the boat shoes to a pair of canvas sneakers. If you want to make this look dressy, switch the cloth belt for a leather one, also adding a pair of loafers.
