That Guy: Han Meadway

This week's Profile is Han Meadway of Philadelphia. Philly Fashion guru Sabir Peele tells us why Han is this week's That Guy.

What I like about this look?

I really like the fact that Han took elements of fall menswear and gave them a spring twist. The weather has started to heat up in Philly during the day but may be a bit cooler at night. If you look closely you will see that his shorts are actually a pair of thin cords (corduroy pants) that were homemade into shorts. To complete this look and keeping with the deep, earthy colors, he went with a pair of brown boat shoes that are great to wear in the spring through fall seasons.

Where could this outfit  be worn?

This look is perfect for a warm spring stroll through the city. If you plan to stop by a casual outdoor restaurant, meet up with some friends midday for lunch or catch an early spring Phillies game at Citizen Bank Park this look is perfect. If  you work in a more creative atmosphere or outdoors during the warmer months, this look might be perfect for you.

Where can you buy this particular look?

Corduroy shorts are starting to make waves in the menswear scene, especially with guys in the 18 to 35 age bracket. Brands like L.L. Bean, Lucky Brand, Lands' End and Billabong all carry corduroy shorts. If you don't want to purchase a pair of cord shorts, but, you have a pair of full length corduroy pants, feel free to get out the scissors and get to cutting. Even though plaid shirts are a fall staple, they can definitely be mixed into your spring through summer wardrobe as well. Brands like Bonobos, Brooks Brothers and Banana Republic carry plaid shirts all year-round with a variety of seasonally appropriate colors too. If you are in the market for a pair of boat shoes, head to brands such as Sperry Topsiders, Sebago and Timberland.

Style Tip.

If you want to get a similar look, but, you want to go for something lighter in terms of fabric, opt for chino shorts. Chino shorts are made of lighter cotton than corduroy and are perfect for the spring through summer months. You can swap out his long sleeve shirt for short sleeve version.  The great thing about this look is it can transition into a night look, by rolling down the sleeves to stay warm.
