Celebrate Islamic Heritage

In a world where cultural stereotypes permeate already volatile relations between the West and the Middle East, perhaps a little understanding wouldn’t hurt.

Enter the Islamic Heritage Festival, set to open for the day at Penn’s Landing Saturday, June 19.

Miss Undastood

The one-day event, put on by the Islamic Cultural Preservation and Information Council, will begin at 2 p.m. and festival promises to acquaint guests with various facets of the Muslim world, such as  history, medicine, music, food, and arts and crafts, through an array of vendors.

In the line-up for musical entertainment is Muslim poet and rapper Miss Undastood.

The event is free.
