LIFE IS A CIRCUS: Ahh, the circus, what great memories --getting your face painted, seeing animals do insane tricks and clowns squeezing into tiny cars as they juggle multiple objects. And who can forget the trapeze artists? Tonight is the perfect night to get back all of those memories. Bring the kiddies and come out to opening night of Zing, Zang, Zoom, the latest circus from Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. If you come just an hour early, you can be trained in Clown Class and even see an elephant paint. Zing, Zang, Zoom tickets start $12 and the show begins at 7 p.m. at the Wachovia Spectrum. If you miss opening night, you have until May 25 to still catch it.
BE A WHIZZO AT QUIZZO: Whether you are in fact a whiz or you're just in it for the drinks and appetizers specials, Mad River offers something for everyone. Get out of the Center City for the night and make your way to Manayunk's Main Street. There will be quizzo beginning at 9 p.m. -- just in time for you to enjoy a shot and a beer for only $5. You can't beat that. Delicious appetizers such as wings, quesadillas and Philly cheesesteak rolls are all half off. Test your brain as you fill your tummy. Stick around because at 11 p.m. Mad River hosts open mic night. That should be interesting after a few drinks and some masterful trivia.
CHEERS FOR SPEARS: Funny man, Aries Spears, will be at Helium Comedy Club tonight. Better known for his dead-on impressions on MADtv, Aries Spears is in town as part of his U.S. comedy tour. Since his stint on MADtv, Spears has been in a few movies, but continues to bring a little bit of laughter to each city he visits. Come check him out tonight at Helium, tickets are only $15 and show begins at 8 p.m.
