Volunteers Improve Parks on Day of Service

Service Projects In and Around Hunting Park

The United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania is celebrating the one-year launch of 365 Days of Caring on Saturday, Sept. 11.

Almost 700 volunteers will offer services such as painting, gardening and fixing ball fields to help Philadelphia Parks and Recreation.

"Because United Way’s mission requires year-round work to make sure that children are succeeding in school, families have the income to remain independent and seniors have the supports they need for healthy aging, United Way needs the help of volunteers to support that goal by donating their time and talent at area agencies -– year-round," said the United Way in a release.

Projects will take place in the direct vicinity of Hunting Park (900 W. Hunting Park Ave., Philadelphia) through 1 p.m.
