For every college student that’s wanted to put their drinking money to good use, tonight’s the night. Local students representing a group called Campus Progress are sponsoring Tuition on the Rocks – an effort to try and reform the student loan industry.

Get to Slainte Pub on Market St. in University City from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28 for free food, free drinks, to meet cool people and take action.

The event was designed to grab the attention of Senators Casey and Specter and gain their support to end a program that gives wasteful subsidies on student loans and use the savings -- as much as $87 billion over 10 years -- to help students pay for college.

Little or no debt after busting your butt in college? We’ll drink to that!
