If you're looking for a fun and safe way to celebrate Halloween, bring the family to the Rittenhouse Square area, where more than 100 boutiques, restaurants, spas and galleries will welcome trick-or-treaters from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday Oct. 31.

Participating merchants will have orange signs in their windows, reading “Trick-or-treat here.”

Among the events for the day, there will be a free costume contest for kids at The Shops at Liberty Place from noon to 2 p.m. Philadelphia celebrities will choose the winners and the Children’s Boutique will award fun prizes.

Throughout the day, there will also be balloon art, cupcake decorating, an kids DJ, keepsafe photography, face painting, fake tattoos, trick-or-treat bags, and a kid-friendly snack buffet.

The Rittenhouse Row district is between Broad and 22nd street, and from JFK Boulevard to South Street.
