The countdown is on, one month until the Philly Spring Cleanup on April 10.

But today, you can join Mayor Nutter and the Philadelphia Streets Department in Fishtown for a kickoff celebration.

The outdoor event begins at 1 p.m. on the 2500 block of E. Gordon Street (the winner of last year’s Clean Block Award).

You can expect special announcements about this year’s cleanup dubbed “Keep Up the Sweep Up” and lots of community fun.

Come out and get ready to make our city even more beautiful after this long, ugly winter.

And don't forget to sign up to volunteer to clean any of the many locations in need.
