It’s that time of year again -- the time when daring men and woman strip down to their skivvies and take a dip in the ice-cold Atlantic.

But hey, at least it’s for a good cause.

The Wildwoods’ Polar Bear Plunge benefits the Special Olympics.

Get to the beach behind the Wildwoods’ Convention Center on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. to take the plunge or to show support to the those crazy “bears.”

The plunge is free for spectators, but participants have to raise $100 in pledges.

A free lunch will be served inside the Convention Center for those who put their warmth aside and jump in the water. For all others, lunch is 10 bucks.

Don't worry Lu Ann -- you're off the hook on this one!
