Take a Stroll, Find a Sale

The Old City shopping extravaganza is this weekend.

Kick up your heels for the 3rd Annual Old City Stroll and Sidewalk Sale this Saturday, May 15 and Sunday, May 16 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Over 50 merchants will set up tables outside and offer bargains by the bagful.

Inside, the shops will display their newest items for the spring and summer. Participants include boutiques, art galleries and salons, restaurants.

“Everyone is doing their part to make this a big event, we’re expecting a turn out by the hundreds,” says Dollak.

As you stroll, refreshments will be served at most shops and there’s even going to be a band playing. The Wild Bohemians describe themselves as a Mardi Gras-type band and will walk along side you while you shop (yup, it does sound kinda' creepy).

And don’t worry about those parking meters -- the lot on 2nd St. between Race and Vine will offer discounted parking for the day. All you have to do is get your receipt stamped by any one of the merchants to get the deal. Plus, since Chevrolet is a sponsor, they'll picking picking up shoppers at 3rd and Market Sts. and shuttling to and from the sale. As an added bonus, Chevy fans can hop in the newest Camero and take a spin.

This event is rain or shine.
