Rutgers Students Use 1st Friday to Aid Japan

The world is aware of the crisis and lack of resources in Japan after the devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Rutgers-Camden students have decided to help the Japanese people by sponsoring "Raise Up Japan," an art sale that will feature an array of artwork from their community in Philadelphia according to NJ.com.

The students explain why they felt they needed to help.

"We, members of the Rutgers University community, established Raise Up Japan in order to hold a series of fund raising events to make contributions to relief organizations"

“Raise Up Japan” will have the art show Friday at 144 N Second St. in Old City starting at 4 p.m.

All proceeds from sales will be donated to the Japanese Red Cross.
