On Saturday, Oct. 3, enjoy a day of food, fun and scenery at the River City Festival.
Located in historic Penn Treaty Park, the festival will begin in the morning with a 5K run at 10 a.m. To participate in the run, it's $20 for adults and $15 for kids -- just register online.
If running isn't your thing, don't worry, the festival will continue into the afternoon with tons of activities. There will be live entertainment from local bands, stuff to keep the kids busy -- including a moonbounce, face painters, magic shows and animals from The Philadelphia Zoo -- displays from local artists, lots of delicious food and more.
There will also be presentations about the vibrant history of the area -- all taking place along beautiful Delaware River.
The Fishtown Neighbors Association worked hard to organize this event, so make sure you come hungry, bring your camera and hope for good weather because the festival promises to be a day of fun.
“Last year’s success has helped us create an even better atmosphere," says Event Chairman Neil Brecher. "People will leave this year’s festival remembering their day on the Delaware.”
