Ridin' Free to the Winter Classic

Got tickets, but no transportation? SEPTA is free all day long!

Perhaps you’re one of the lucky hockey fans that was able to score tickets to the Winter Classic at Citizens Bank Park…and you know what? You’re about to get luckier.

On Monday, you won’t have to worry about drinking and driving or paying for – or fighting for – a good parking spot because Pepsi MAX and SEPTA are hooking hockey fans up with free rides all day!

From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. the Broad Street Line will be free – including no charge for regular fares and transfers. Plus, SEPTA will add eight extra Sports Express trips that will run every 10 minutes from 11:30 a.m. until face-off at 3 p.m.

Services that connect with the Broad Street Line include:

  • The Market-Frankford Line: Transfer to the Broad Street Line at 15th Street/City Hall.
  • Regional Rail: Riders on all lines can depart at Market East or Suburban stations for easy access to the Broad Street Line at City Hall.
  • Trolley: Transfers to City Hall available via routes 10, 11, 13, 34 and 36.
  • Bus: A number of routes provide connections to a number of different stations along the Broad Street Line.

Although the game has been postponed until 3 p.m., free rides still end as planned at 6 p.m. However, riders attending the Classic can ride for free after the game IF they depart from the AT&T station.

Fans from South Jersey can catch a ride by taking the PACTO High Speed Line to 12th/13th and Locust – just follow the signs in the concourse to the Broad Street Line.
