Woof, Woof — It's Dog Show Time

To the delight of dog lovers around the Delaware Valley the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s Dog Shows wag their way into the Expo Center at Oaks this weekend.

The dog shows -- that’s right there is so much tail-wagging action that the it takes the whole weekend to complete – gets under way Saturday and continues Sunday.

The Saturday event will be filmed and showcased as the National Dog Show Presented by Purina (and hosted by John O’Hurley) on Thanksgiving Day on NBC.

But, the show is much more than just the filmed part.

More than 1,500 dogs, including some of the top-ranked dogs in the country, from more than 150 breeds will be judged each day. The top dogs will then face off in seven groups Sporting, Hound, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting and Herding, according to the Show’s Web site.

The best part is that you don’t need to even own a dog to attend the show, it’s open to the public. Tickets cost just 12 bucks for adults and $6 for kids and are on sale now or available at the door.

So, "rover" on over to Oaks this weekend to see some of the best dogs in show.
