Numerous Veterans Day events are set to take place in the area honoring the nation’s heroes.

The National Constitution Center will hold events throughout the day beginning with a flag raising ceremony at 9:15 a.m.

A Veterans Day celebration will take place at the Watermark in Logan Square beginning at 9:30 a.m. Bronze Star Vietnam veteran Carlton Jones Jr. will read his short war memoir “One Among Millions,” which has received national recognition.

More than 50 female veterans from Philadelphia will be attending the Women Veterans ROCK Veterans Day Rally in Washington, DC.

A dedication ceremony in memory of Corporal Michael Crescenz will take place at 2 p.m. on Baltimore Avenue. Crescenz is Philadelphia’s only Medal of Honor recipient during the Vietnam War.

Mayor Michael Nutter will attend a breakfast with local veterans in North Philadelphia and wreath laying ceremonies in Old City, Aviator Park and Penn’s Landing.

Delaware and New Jersey veterans will be honored at the War Memorial Plaza in New Castle. Delaware Governor Jack Markell will attend.

Log College Middle School in Warminster, Pa., Epiphany of Our Lord Parish School in South Philadelphia, Neumann-Goretti High School in South Philadelphia, Pennridge Central Middle School in Perkasie, Pa. and Widener University in Chester, Pa. will all hold Veterans Day events.
Yes to the Dress Bridal Boutique in Huntingdon Valley will donate couture wedding gowns to military brides.

The Graffiti of War Project is holding a Veterans Day showcase in Pottsville.

Ocean City will hold a Veterans Day ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park beginning at 11 a.m. Gloucester County will hold a ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on the Gloucester County Justice steps in Woodbury.

Finally, the Wesley Enhanced Living retirement community in Upper Moreland will hold a Veterans Day celebration.
