Improv Around the Clock

Bored of all those repeating jokes from the same comedians? Now listen to this -- non-scripted entertainment for 24 hours will keep the audience awake and laughing.

Eight  improvisers, including Mary Carpenter, Karen Getz and Nathan Holt, are taking over the stage to improvise stories and musicals of all kind.

The "Dazed and Amused" performance is part of the 2009 Philadelphia Arts Festival.

And it does not end after two hours, because all performers will try to keep going throughout the 24-hour marathon. "Can they make it to midnight with their wit and wits intact?" the event asked.

Well find out in person.

Be sure to check out an unusual event -- taking place at Adrienne Theater, 2030 Sansom St.

Tickets can be purchased for two-hour blocks ($10) or for the whole she-bang ($25) at the box office or the Fringe Festival Web site.

The show starts Saturday at 11:59 PM and will end the next night at midnight (if all goes as planned).
