Have a Beer, Help the Homeless

At the Triumph Brewing Company Thursday

Sure, it can be awkward or uncomfortable -- you're out enjoying a nice walk or day of shopping when you're approached by a homeless man or woman asking for cash. But let's face it -- they need our help.

So Thursday night, show some heart and head to the Triumph Brewing Company to support one guy's effort to raise $1500 for Back on My Feet (BOMF).

Everett Reiss is running the Philadelphia Marathon to support the organization that helps homeless people, but not by giving them food and shelter. Instead, the money will help them become part of a community and learn how to manage their lives by running together every morning.

Brews for Philly's BOMF starts at 7:30 p.m. and features live music, cheap drink specials and $1 raffles for a chance to win iPods and other prizes.

Friday, tune in to NBC 10 at 5 p.m. for a look back at the pretty amazing story of how Back on My Feet began and more ways to help raise money and awareness for the organization.
