During the holidays, it’s hard for area hospitals to maintain sufficient blood supplies. That’s why on Saturday, Dec. 5, the Philadelphia Flyers and 76ers are teaming up with Comcast-Spectacor for their 4th Annual Blood drive.

”During the holiday season it is important to remember to give back and to help those less fortunate,” said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko.

So, if you bleed orange, or maybe even blue, give some of the red stuff.

"The American Red Cross does wonderful things to help so many people around the world and we encourage our fans to help by giving blood,” said Luukko.

All of the day’s donors will go home with a limited edition Jeff Carter (Flyers) or Lou Williams (Sixers) autographed poster and will be entered to win a free trip to Boston to see the Flyers take on the Bruins on Friday, Jan. 1.

If helping people seems like something you’re into this holiday season, sign up. The drive starts at 6 a.m. at the Wachovia Center.
