Benefit for Late ‘Calendar' Firefighter Tonight

Come out to Northern Liberties Wednesday night to remember the late Philadelphia firefighter who was reprimanded for posing for a charity calendar shirtless.

John "Jack" Slivinski, 32, took his own life in June -- less than two months after he was temporarily removed from his duties at Fire Rescue 1 and reinstated a week later.

Tonight, firefighters and family will honor Slivinski. The benefit begins at 6 p.m. at Kings Oak in the Piazza in Northern Liberties. Proceeds will go to Slivinski's favorite charity, Local 22 Widow's Fund, which assists the families of fallen firefighters.

A tent will be set up outside of the restaurant, so there will be plenty of room!

In addition to cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, the "Nation's Bravest" calendar -- featuring Jack on the cover -- will be debuted!

Tickets for the three-hour event are $40 at the door.
