6/9: Drake, Delicious Beer and a French Duo

Biere Semaine: It’s Beer Week with a French twist at Le Bec Fin tonight. The high-class restaurant will pair some of its best dishes with five delicious Shelton Brothers French Beer selections including Colomba, La Choulette Framboise, PG-24 Blonde, Thieriez Extra and Theillier La Bavaisienne. Philly’s own Joe Sixpack and B.R. Ryola, a specialist on French breweries and representative for Shelton Brothers, will be on hand answering all your beer questions and dropping beer knowledge throughout dinner. Cocorosie: French eccentric duo, Cocorosie, are in town tonight at the Troc. They are joined by newcomer Diane Cluck. If you haven’t heard of Cocorosie imagine a cross the Lady Gaga and Bjork -- shock value, unique and experimental. Singer-songwriter Diane Cluck is an impressive guitarist with a subtly haunting and intriguing voice. Both performances can be heard for less than $20. Drake Listening Party: Canadian rapper Drake has turned the hip-hop world upside down over the past year with hits like “Best I Ever Had,” “Successful” and “I’m Goin’ In.” Hear a sneak peak of his latest album, Thank Me Later, tonight at Swanky Bubbles. The Old City restaurant will hold a listening party packed with drink specials, reviewers and eager fans like yourself. Be sure to RSVP for free admission.
