6/17: Dancing, Drinking and a Folk Duo

Old City Social: Tonight, celebrate the Old City Social. All your favorite hot spots will offer $3 cocktails, $3 wines, $3 beers and half-priced appetizers. We recommend checking out Dolce for both dining and dancing. The Italian restaurant features delicious appetizers like bruschetta, calamari, shrimp cocktail and mixed salads. Try any of beers or red, white and sparkling wines. After a few drinks, head over to Paradigm right next door to destroy the dance floor. Dolce, 241 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106, +21, 5 p.m.

Dance, Dance, Dance: Stick around Old City because Nichole Canuso Dance Company will host an evening full of carnival-esque events at Triumph. Party with the company's dancers as you enjoy cocktails, craft beers, games, prizes and, of course, many performances by the local dance troupe. Bring your friends and bid on silent auction items or have your future read through Tarot cards and be sure to find out what the magic photo booth is all about. All tickets will benefit Nichole Canuso Dance Company. Triumph Brewery, 117 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106, +21, $13-$20, 7:30 p.m.

The Guggenheim Grotto: Pop-folk duo, The Guggenheim Grotto, will join Chris O’Brien tonight at Tin Angel. TGG hail from England and have captivated audiences everywhere with their touching literary-inspired lyrics. Boston native, O’Brien also has an acoustic folk sound and his latest album was named iTunes “Best Albums of 2007.” Tin Angel at Serrano, 20 South 2nd Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19106, +21, $10, 8:30 p.m.
