4/10-4/11: Monopoly, Metal and an Open Mic

Vivian Green: R&B singer-songwriter Vivian Green will make an appearance at the Sound of Market Record Store this Saturday. The Philly native is in town to sign copies of her new record, Beautiful. You may remember her from hits like “Emotional Rollercoaster” and “Gotta Go Gotta Leave.” Her latest release, “Beautiful” is climbing the charts and we think it will bring her just as much success as her previous hits. Monopoly Pub Crawl: This Saturday afternoon hop on the Monopoly Pub Crawl for only $10. Beginning in Old City, the crawl will include food and drink specials as well as a free shot if you arrive by 12:15 p.m. Throughout the day, stop at more than ten locations throughout Philadelphia. Be sure to make the exclusive after-party at Finnigan’s Wake at 8 p.m. just bring your Septa ticket from the day of travels to get in. Sax Addiction: This Saturday night head to UPenn for the ultimate jazz experience. Penn Jazz, an 18-piece University of Pennsylvania jazz band, will perform a variety of jazz classics. With influences from Wayne Shorter, Cedar Walton and Thad Jones, we’re sure you’ll be in for a good show for only $10. Weedeater: This Sunday night, jam to four metal rock groups at the Khyber in Old City. Sunny Day Music and WKDU 91.7 FM present the best metal throughout the U.S. Weeddeater, a sludge metal group from North Carolina, is joined by Indiana metal rock band The Gates of Slumber, Ohio group Struck by Lightning and Black Tusk, a Georgia rock group.
