3/8: Music, a Movie and Monday Specials

Happy Hour: Escape into the Basque region of Spain tonight at Tinto. During happy hour, enjoy half-priced sangria and complementary pintxos (small bites.) If you’re craving a bit more, restaurateur, Jose Garces, has created quite an extensive menu ranging from cheese plates to seafood to different meats and greens. All dishes are served tapas style so we recommend a few plates per person. Stay for their delicious dessert selection and after-dinner wines. Tinto, 116 South 20th Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19103, 5 p.m.

Opera Night: It’s Opera Night at the cozy BYOB, Fellini Café. The authentic Italian restaurant offers the chance for performers to sing their favorite opera classics every Monday night. See a preview of the night here. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show as you try Fellini’s antipasto, salads, pastas and meat. Bring a date and make sure you make a reservation early. Fellini Café, 106 West State Road, Media, Pa. 19063.

Movie Monday: See the fantasy drama, Where the Wild Things Are tonight at the Troc. We can all remember imaginary tale our parents read to us when we were young. Now, for only $3, watch the Spike Jonze film based off of the novel by Maurice Sendak. Plus, if you arrive early, you will not only get a free bag of popcorn a beer, but you will also get the chance to see a sneak peak at the documentary film, White Stripes: Under Great White Northern Lights. Trocadero Theatre, 1003 Arch Street, Philadelphia, Pa. 19107, $3, 7 p.m.
