11/21-11/22: Clay Classes, Concerts and Courageous Contestants

Classes with Clay: Visit one of Philly’s most fascinating art studios, The Clay Studio, this Saturday afternoon for a free, hands-on workshop and brunch with Judyth Van Amringe. Amringe and crafters will create a ceramic installation to be on display at the Eastern State Penitentiary this March. If you miss the workshop, all day Saturday, Sunday and throughout the week, see winter displays of Joanie Turbek, Gillian Parke and the annual holiday exhibition at the Clay Studio. This nonprofit ceramic arts studio not only showcases unique talent, but also offers workshops Monday through Friday for those wishing to learn more about art. Boys Like Girls: See Boston boys, Boys Like Girls with Cobra Starship, A Maine, A Rocket to the Moon and Versa Emerge this Saturday at the Electric Factory. Boys Like Girls and Cobra Starship are taking the pop rock scene by storm with hits like “Two is Better than One” and “Good Girls Go Bad,” respectively. The Maine has an indie sound while A Rocket to the Moon and Versa Emerge play rock/experimental music. See all five bands for only $25 -- a steal for this kind of talent. Saturday Shakedown: This Saturday night head into University City for tons of dancing and drink specials. Head over the bridge to the Millennium Skate World in Camden for your chance to join the league. Bring your own equipment and your game face, as this will most definitely be an intense tryout.
