A Night Inside the Best Prom in America
Take a peek inside Pennsbury High's 2009 prom. The school has a reputation for hosting the "Best Prom in America." Pennsbury High School in Bucks County hosts The Best Prom in America. Yeah, they have awesome laser lights by the ultra cool Synergetic Sounds and Lighting people. And just like most other schools, prom-goers love to get crazy on the dance floor. But here's how Pennsbury created prom envy... Students transform their entire school into a theme-night with elaborate, homemade sets like this two story Harry Potter castle. They spend an entire year planning and creating. This year's theme was "A Novel Night", so everything was based on a book. The dragon mural is from "The Magic Treehouse." This huge spider is from the Harry Potter series. After the shock and awe over the sets and murals wanes, students get ready for what has become the night's biggest surprise. And it all unfolds in the school's gym! Over 1,000 kids jammed the gym for the DJ. Drum roll please... Ryan Cabrera takes the stage. He's the surprise musical guest for prom night 2009. The pop rock artist is from Texas. He's known for his music and his romance with Ashlee Simpson a few years back. The two even did a series of high school concerts together. Ryan had just wrapped up his "Tell it Like it Is Tour" with Josh Kelley before flying to Philly for the big night. Photographer Jenn Childress captured the night in pictures. She was blown away by the event. "I have never seen anything like it," she said. The price tag for this year's Best Prom in America: $100,000. Students raised all the money. Prom envy.
