Try Dancing the Art Museum Steps

Although you and every tourist sported that "deer in headlights" look, we're sure you enjoyed the "spontaneous" dance spectacle.

If you enjoyed the warm, sunny weather Sunday on the Art Museum steps, you were probably delighted, entertained and -- majorly confused -- when three random girls started dancing a choreographed number.

You were most likely even more bewildered as those three girls multiplied into at least 25 dancing maniacs.

Philly's Spontaneous Dance Party

Although you and every tourist had that "deer in headlights" look frozen on your face, we're sure you enjoyed the "spontaneous" dance spectacle.

It actually wasn't spontaneous at all. Yes, it was planned, staged, choreographed -- but it was meant to look like a spur of the moment gig.

And the brains behind it all -- Laura Perille, 23, who just moved to Philadelphia one year ago. And the mantra -- If you post it, they will dance. And dance they did.

Perille posted an instructional video for the routine on Youtube and put a call out for anyone and everyone to go to the museum and groove.

These "spontaneous" dances are also more popular than you think. You probably saw the huge dance number at the Belgium train station? No? Well, it's definitely a sight to see.

But, if you want a taste of this past weekend's dancing in the sunlight, take a look. The video will be used to help promote travel to our area.
