Take a Final Ride on the South Street Bridge

On Monday, Dec. 8 at 9:30 a.m., the South Street Bridge will close for two years.

Think about it: By the time the southern connection between U-City and Center City reopens, Barack Obama’s presidential term will be nearly halfway through. Jamie Moyer will definitely have retired. And we’ll be on the verge of ringing in 2011.

So why not cross the Schuylkill River via South Street, one last time? Philly’s Bicycle Coalition will host a final bike ride over the bridge Monday at 8:45 a.m.

They’ll be meeting at Hollenbeck Hall (just west of the I-76 interchange), and taking it from there. All are welcome, and there’s no cost to ride along.
