Remember the 1990s? Back when Luke Perry and Doc Martens were cool?
Well, the Field House Sports Bar is keeping the spirit of the 90’s alive by hosting a reincarnate of MTV’s old 90’s television show, “Singled Out.”
This Thursday, February 19, patrons can watch a live rendition of “Singled Out” featuring Philly’s hottest local singles, including NBC10's John Clark.
The two hot-seat participants are Alison Dunlap, the December girl of the WMMR "Preston & Steve's Totally Office Calendar," and Scott Goldfarb, a finalist on MTV's "Double Shot at Love."
Jenny McCarthy, the original co-host of “Singled Out,” won't be hosting the event, but Comedian Tim Adams is the emcee.
Adams has done stand-up at the Helium Comedy Club, and was emcee for Philly's Best Bartender contest. He will also be the host of Philly Beerfest in April.
"It's pretty much the same concept as the show. There's a hot seat, dating pool and categories board," said Adams.
The event is a benefit for autism with all proceeds going to McCarthy’s autism research and support organization “Generation Rescue.”
“Singled Out” ran from 1995 to 1998 and was a popular dating game show on MTV. Every episode featured one male contestant and one female contestant who would sift through 50 guys and 50 girls through a series of games until they were matched with a date.
Unlike the TV show, Thursday's contestants are all eligible for modeling contracts with JS Models, Adams said. He added that the winning couples receive a $300 prize package for a night out in Philly.
The show is from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. with a complimentary open bar from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Field House is located at 1150 Filbert Street in Philadelphia.
