Please Do Eat The Daisies

Pig out on a flower show-inspired food tour

The Philadelphia Flower Show may be beautiful but we think it would be a lot more fun if you could eat the displays instead of just smell them (particularly since this year’s theme is “Bella Italia”). For flower fans like us who can’t get our minds off food no matter how hard we try, City Food Tours has organized an epicurean flower show of its own.

Every day this week beginning at 10:00 a.m. foodies can unleash their inner flower power through a three-hour tour of specialty food shops around the city. They will sample flower-related food stuffs like teas made from jasmine, violets and chrysanthemums, lavender-dusted goat cheese, blue cheese with wildflower honey and orange blossom- and rose-infused chocolates. Participants will also be given a hands-on planting demonstration of a low-maintenance edible Italian garden.

The tours are $39 per person and reservations can be made on the City Food Tours website.
