Are you looking for a day of fun along the water? Why not paddle your way through the weekend at Canal Day this Sunday?
The Schuylkill Canal Association will celebrate its 27th Annual Canal Day on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Locktender's House in Mont Clare, Pa.
There will be tons of outdoorsy stuff to do like running (you can even enter a race if you're the competitive type), fishing and paddle boating. For just $5 you can compete in canal-inspired olympic-type events like the National Canal Joust, Canal Vaulting or High Lowland Games all sponsored by the SCA.
And, if you are in the shopping mood, you'll love the flea market with affordable antiques. Also come with an empty stomach -- among other things, there will be a food vendor and business expo.
Admission tickets cost $3 and kids under 12 get in for free.
