Jose Garces, the local culinary star behind high-end tapas restaurants Amada, Tinto and Distrito, will discuss his impressive career and first cookbook, Latin Evolution, Dec. 8 at the Central Library (1901 Vine St.).

At 36, Garces has already made a name for himself in Philly—and around the world—as a leader in Latin cuisine. He’s a two-time nominee for the James Beard Foundation’s Best Chef award. In March, Garces appeared on the Food Network’s Iron Chef America.

The talk is free and starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets aren’t required, so just show up!
