Hidden Tracks: A Triple Header

If you like your rock fueled with passion, then the Khyber show I attended this past Wednesday that featured three of my favorite bands was the place to be. Opening the set was Kingsfoil. I’ve written about these guys before in my blog, but now the foursome from York, PA is hitting their stride. They played a high-energy set that featured some new songs.

And then Parkwright took the stage with an intense performance that got everyone moving. These guys are not afraid to bring it and their raucous set also featured a bunch of new songs that will be on their forthcoming CD. I told them they remind me of a harder rockin’ version of one of my favorite bands from the '70s, Marshall Tucker. They weren’t sure what to make of my compliment, but trust me it’s a good one -- have a listen.

Pete and J followed them, doing what they did what they always do -- blow the doors off the place. Pete and J continue to amaze me with their ability to take their show up to the next level. As proof, they did a kick ass cover of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” to end the night.

All in all, the show well worth the $10 ticket price. And you’ll get two more chances to see Pete and J this July. They play the Khyber on July 16 and again on July 29.

Don’t forget to watch “Hidden Tracks” this Saturday after “Saturday Night Live” and “LX TV.” Both Pete and J and Kingsfoil are featured.
