Gnome Roams Around Philly

McGlinchey’sThe "roaming gnome" has roamed his way into our home.

Voters logged onto Travelocity.com and voted that our fair city should be the next stop for the delightful spokesgnome.

The gnome traveled all the way from the Grand Canyon to the city of brotherly love yesterday, and he’s been busy.

The gnome was spotted all over the city including a trip to city hall and then finally calling it a night and spending a night at the Hotel Sofitel Philadelphia.

Tonight the gnome will not be roaming alone as he and Joe Sixpack will travel to McGillin’s Olde Ale House. Gnome and Joe will stop by the city's oldest continuously operating tavern at 5 p.m. to have a beer and sample the rich history of the tavern. Opened in 1860, the same year that Abe Lincoln was elected, McGillin’s has survived two world wars, Prohibition and the 60s.

Then on Saturday, the gnome will spot by Eastern State Penitentiary, the Zoo, the Star Trek Exhibit at The Franklin Institute, The Italian Market, do a cheesesteak tour, and then finish up at the Phillies game.

Sunday the gnome will roam to the Reading Terminal Market, Delilah’s Mac & Cheese, McGlinchey’s bar, and Magic Garden.

The gnome will finish his rounds on Monday with stops at the Liberty Bell, the National Constitution Center, Franklin Square and Philly Soft Pretzel

So come on by and hanging out with the roaming gnome, because you never know when he’ll return.
