If you and your band have the talent, put it into good use at a week-long summer jam session in August.

Do you want to learn how to rock out? Philly’s no-boys-allowed rock camp returns to teach girls how to jam in style.

Girls Rock Philly camp week is Philadelphia’s first and only rock camp exclusively for girls ages 9 to 17. And it's making a comeback August 3 to August 8 at the Girard College campus (at Girard Ave. & Corinthian Ave).

You don't need to have any experience to join the camp. All of the teachers (women, of course) will teach you all you need to know to form a band, to write a song and to play instruments of your choice.  And you'll be sporting your own band merchandise after you learn to make t-shirts.

Daily workshops will get you ready for the big day-- a showcase for the community. And jammers will be ready to shine during their very own recording session in a professional studio.

Camper and volunteer applications for the 2009 summer camp season are now being accepted.
