Get Classical, at No Charge

That building at the corner of 18th and Locust streets isn’t a pretty condo building. It’s the Curtis Institute of Music, one of the world’s premiere conservatories.

The school has trained some of music’s legends, including Leonard Bernstein and Alan Gilbert—and an ever-growing list of alumni who have performed with the nation’s best orchestras.

Every week, Curtis’ students perform recitals that are free and open to the public. They provide your chance to see some of the next generation of the world’s top musicians, at no cost.

Simply show up to the Curtis Institute (1726 Locust St.) in time for their 8 p.m. start. This week, student recitals will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

For more information and a schedule of performances, check out Curtis’ Web site or call the school’s Recital Hotline, 215.893.5261.
