Bastille Day commemorates the anniversary of the storming of Bastille, a fortress and prison in France.

So what's that mean for us? One heck of a celebration.

Get to State Street in Media for a Bastille Day celebration filled with arts, live music, dancing, storytelling by Ben Franklin and a reenactment of the take down of the prison. There's also arts and crafts for the kids, jugglers and stilt walkers.

Learn the history of American independence and its influence on the French Revolution for free on Saturday, July 11 (July 14 is actually Bastille Day) from 5:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.

Here's a little preview of what you can expect (and you don't need your French-American dictionary to get it).
