Aditi Roy

Aditi Roy joined the NBC 10 News team on May 20, 2002, as a general assignment reporter. Since her arrival, Roy has anchored the weekend news, and she currently co-anchors ‘NBC 10 Today’ with Terry Ruggles, M-F, 5-7AM.
Prior to joining NBC 10, Roy was a reporter for KHQ-TV in Spokane, Washington. Before reporting for KHQ-TV, she was a reporter and photographer for KLKN-TV in Lincoln, Nebraska. Roy was responsible for shooting, writing and editing stories in both the field and in the newsroom.
While at NBC 10, Roy has been frequently recognized for her achievements as a reporter.
In 2008, she received an Emmy nomination for ‘Best General Assignment Reporter’ and in 2007 an Emmy nomination for ‘Best News Feature Story.’ In 2004 and 2005, she was nominated for ‘Best Hard News Reporter.’ She was also nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for ‘Best Spot News Story’ in 2003.
Roy has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California at Berkeley, where she graduated with high honors. She also earned an M.A. in Political Science from Stanford University and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University. Roy, who is fluent in Bengali, has also studied the Spanish language. Currently, she fills the role of adjunct instructor at Villanova University, where she teaches journalism. In addition, she serves on the board of the Achieving Independence Center, whose mission is to help foster children find jobs, and she is a volunteer tutor at Hope Middle School in North Philadelphia.
In her spare time, Roy is an avid runner and she has completed two marathons – one in Chicago, Ill., in October 2002, and one in Washington, D.C., in October 2003. Roy delights in traveling, and she has taken numerous trips to India, where her parents are from. She also enjoys playing the piano.
Roy resides in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
