Claudia Rivero joined NBC 10 in April 2009.

She made the move to Philadelphia after spending 8 years at KTVK in Phoenix, Arizona. While at KTVK Rivero won two Rocky Mountain Emmys and two Associated Press Awards.

In 2007 she received an Emmy for “Veronica’s Destiny” a story about a pregnant mother who was also suffering from terminal breast cancer and the critical, yet endearing choices she made to save her unborn child.

In 2002 Rivero won a Rocky Mountain Emmy Award and an Associated Press Award for "In search of the American Dream" a story about the dangers illegal immigrants are willing to face for a chance at a better life. That same year she also received an Associated Press Award for "48 Hours in New York" a series of September 11th-based human-interest stories.

Prior to KTVK Rivero was a weather anchor/general assignments reporter at Univision's KTVW in Phoenix.

Rivero attended the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University.

She is a strong supporter of the James Alan Cox Foundation, which provides scholarships to students who wish to become photographers. The foundation was started in honor of photographer and Rivero’s dear friend James Cox who was killed when two news helicopters collided in mid-air in 2007.

In her spare time Rivero enjoys traveling, concerts, learning different languages, and most importantly spending time with her family.
