Meet 11 year old Jordan and his new parents, Louis and Jocelyn.  Jordan, formerly known as Mykal before he was adopted and changed his name, was featured on Wednesday’s Child in 2011 at the School of Rock.  It was then that he shared with Wednesday’s Child host Vai Sikahema his desire to be adopted by a nice family.

That dream came true for Jordan when his adoption was finalized just this year.  He now has a mom, dad, two cats, a dog and many cousins.   Louis, Jocelyn and Jordan visited NBC10 Studios to talk to Vai about their success story and how Wednesday’s Child played a role in it.  Louis and Jocelyn heard about Jordan through their adoption agency.  After learning Jordan had been featured on Wednesday’s Child, Louis said they watched the segment nearly 100 times!  “It was like seeing the child we learned about on paper come to life,” said Jocelyn as she was able to replay the segment over and over again.

As Vai spoke to Jordan, he asked him if this family is what he dreamed of when he was still in foster care.  Jordan confidently replied, “This is more than I dreamed of.  My parents have passion for me.  The best part about having a family is waking up to a smile from them everyday.” Jordan loves rough housing with his dad and being tickled by his mom.  The family travels and enjoys spending time together.  Jordan continues to explore his music interests and has become an even better drummer.  He golfs with his dad and is also good at skiing.
