Chestnut Hill got some nice recognition Wednesday.

You might notice something while walking down Germantown Ave. in Chestnut Hill.

The scenic enclave has recently struggled to keep storefronts occupied even offering up some vacant stores as art showcases for local college students.

But, things could be turning around on the Hill.

Chestnut Hill was just named one of a dozen “Distinctive Destinations” by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Chestnut Hill landed on the list thanks to the shopping and dinning opportunities available along the Avenue and its parks.

“Chestnut Hill thrives with opportunities for fine dining and boutique shopping as well as the enjoyment of the outdoors in the nearby Wissahickon Valley Park,” said NT4HP.

The Philly neighborhood was also recognized for its architecture, art and walkability.

The coolest part for fans of The Hill (or anyone who likes seeing Philly get some dap) is that you can vote for Chestnut Hill as the “fan favorite” Distinctive Destination.

Voting is going on now -- but it ends on Sunday, Feb. 28 and as of Thursday, we were getting beat :(

The best part is that anyone who votes will be entered to win a two-night stay at a historic hotel.

Vote now and put Chestnut Hill over the top of places like Key West, Fla. and Rockland, Maine. And, if you’re looking for a nice day out of the house, check out the Hill -- the Chestnut Grill is always a great place to start.
