Tim Lake

Tim Lake can currently be seen co-anchoring NBC10 News at 5, 6, and 11pm. Lake joined NBC10 in 1992, and has earned a solid reputation amongst viewers for his thorough live reports on criminal court cases, city and state government issues and politics.

During NBC10’s extensive coverage of the 1996 summer Olympics in Atlanta, Lake co-hosted a live program for the arrival of the Olympic Torch in Philadelphia. He won a Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmy for his role in the program.

Before coming to WCAU, Lake was the weekend evening news anchor and medical reporter for KPRC-TV in Houston. While at KPRC, he was honored with numerous community awards for reporting on medical issues such as AIDS, cancer and infant mortality. He also reported on other major events including commercial airline crashes, the World Economic Summit, and several Gulf Coast hurricanes.

Lake’s television career began in 1983 at WCSC-TV in Charleston, South Carolina, where he anchored the market’s dominant 11 p.m. news for nearly five years.  Prior to anchoring, Lake was a radio news anchor and a reporter/photographer for daily and weekly newspapers in South Carolina and New York State.

Lake is one of 13 children in his family from Ellisburg, New York. He graduated from Morrisville College and Fredonia State University after studying Journalism, History and Political Science.

Lake, his wife Jaime and their three children reside in the Philadelphia suburbs.
