Jesse Gary joined NBC10 as a reporter in July of 2012. Most recently, Gary was with KNBC-TV in Los Angeles as a general assignment reporter from 2011 to 2012. Prior to KNBC, he reported for KTLA in Los Angeles from 2010 to 2011. While in California, he also worked at KTVU in Oakland from 2005 to 2010, and KRON in San Francisco from 2001 to 2005.
Gary’s early years in broadcast journalism were with KWTV in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He covered the 1995 bombing of the Murrah federal building, and was part of the KWTV team that received a Peabody award for their coverage of the event. Later in his career, he received a second Peabody for his reporting on the 2008 riots in Oakland, California. He is the recipient of 2 Emmy awards and has also received numerous Associated Press and Radio Television News Directors Association awards for his coverage of various breaking news stories.
Earlier in his career he reported in the Philadelphia market for both WTXF-TV and KYW-TV.
A native of New York City’s suburbs, Gary graduated from The University of Texas at Dallas with a B.A. in Mass Communications. He currently lives in the Philadelphia area.
