Wax Museum for Sale

Civil War wax museum up for sale

Wax figures including Abraham Lincoln and other giants of the civil war could be yours if you are willing to buy an entire museum.

A wax museum commemorating the Civil War is up for sale months before the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg.

The Evening Sun reports the owners of the American Civil War Wax Museum in Gettysburg have put it on the market for nearly $1.7 million. The museum's general manager, Tammy Myers, says the owners are looking to retire.

The museum opened 51 years ago. It's home to 35 scenes and more than 300 life-size wax figures.  It also has living history encampments in which re-enactors show how solders lived and fought during the war.

July marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg. It's considered the war's turning point, as the Northern army repelled Gen. Robert E. Lee and the Confederate Army.
