Postal Worker Busted for Pot Shipment

NJ distribution center employee allegedly has 5 pounds of marijuana shipped to him, cops say

A Vineland postal worker was allegedly having marijuana mailed to him at the Bellmawr, N.J. distribution center.

Arturo Delgado, 28, of the 2400 block of North East Boulevard was arrested May 27 after he allegedly took two packages containing 5 pounds of weed out of the distribution center and placed them in a waiting car, according to Vineland Police.

On May 22 Vineland Police Narcotic Detectives got word from U.S. Postal Inspectors that an employee in New Jersey was getting shipments of marijuana from California. The next day postal inspectors intercepted two packages containing about 5 pounds of pot in plastic bags that were to be delivered to Delgado, police said.

The packages were repackaged and delivered as normal to Delgado, cops said.

When shipment arrived at the Almond Road facility, police say, Delgado was seen taking the packages outside and placing them in a car driven by Dylan Burke, 19 of the 1300 block of Kirkwood Drive in Vineland.

Both men were arrested. Delgado and Burke were charged with marijuana possession and intent to deliver and released on summonses to appear in court, police said.
