Thieves Steal Empty Beer Kegs Thinking They Were Full: Cops

Police arrested two teens and a 43-year-old man after they were caught stealing empty beer kegs from a northern New Jersey restaurant that they thought were full.

NJ.com reports a Riverdale police officer spotted a vehicle parked in a restricted area behind Blu Alehouse on Route 23 on Tuesday morning.

Lt. James Macintosh says the officer approached the car and spoke with the driver, 19-year-old Brianna Siegel, and her passenger, 18-year-old John Buenoguaba. A man standing next to the vehicle, Donald Alena, was also questioned.

Macintosh says surveillance footage determined the trio stole $1,000 worth of kegs from the restaurant for an upcoming party.

All three were charged with theft and conspiracy to commit theft.

It's not known if they have lawyers who can comment on the charges.
