Delaware Woman Arrested for DUI for 4th Time

A Delaware woman has been arrested on charges of drunken driving for the fourth time in five years.

Delaware State Police say 42-year-old Jean Steiner of Lewes was driving Thursday night when her car veered off New Road just west of Old Orchard Road in Lewes. When Steiner tried to get back on the roadway, her car flipped and landed in the middle of the road on its roof.

Medics rushed Steiner to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and released soon after.

Police then charged Steiner with drunken driving, failing to carry insurance and registration, and failing to stay in one lane.

Police say Steiner has three previous DUI convictions: in 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Steiner was arraigned and remained in custody at the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution in New Castle unable to post $6,003 cash bond.

It's unclear whether she has an attorney.
