School's IT Guy Arrested for “Threatening” Facebook Posts

Bethlehem Area School District employee arrested for "terroristic threats"

A Bethlehem Area School District employee was arrested over the weekend on charges stemming from messages he posted on his public Facebook page.

James Kelley, a technology specialist for Broughal Middle School, was arrested after he reportedly wrote threats against the school and Lehigh Valley International Airport on his Facebook page, leading police to search his residence, reports the Morning Call.

"What if I did lose it. What if I came into the School with a gun. I could have … I have all the keys. I can get in any door…anywhere," Kelley wrote on his Facebook page, according to the Morning Call.

The search at his home on 10th Avenue in Bethlehem resulted in the seizure of a computer, marijuana, and shotgun shells (but no shotgun), police say.

Kelley, 38, is being held in Northampton County Prison on two counts of felony terroristic threats.

School officials met with parents Monday night to discuss the case.
