A driver deposited a sport utility vehicle into a North Philadelphia bank early Thursday.
And, investigators said the driver of the white SUV that slammed into the United Bank at Broad and Jefferson streets shortly before 2 a.m. and a passenger ran away from the scene.
Police looked into the possibility that the SUV that wound up stopped in the middle of the bank — taking insulation, chairs and broken glass with it — was possibly stolen.
Before crashing into the bank the SUV struck a parked car, said police.
Luckily no one was hurt.
Licenses and Inspections would need to determine that the structure is safe before the bank can reopen, said police.
