Police: Burlington County Woman Lied About Assault

Police in Pennsylvania say a woman has admitted to filing false assault charges against her ex-boyfriend to prevent him from getting custody of their child.

Bensalem police say 30-year-old Rachel Dickstein of Willingboro, N.J. had previously filed charges and testified against the ex-boyfriend, who was arrested on domestic violence charges as a result, the Bucks County Courier-Times reports.

But prosecutors learned that Dickstein had admitted in a video recording to a different ex-boyfriend that she made up the assault.

Police confronted Dickstein on Tuesday and she reportedly told them that her injuries were self-inflicted.

Dickstein was arraigned Wednesday on charges of perjury, false reports, false swearing and unsworn falsification to authorities. She's in the Bucks County prison, unable to post $150,000 bail.

No attorney was listed on court papers.
